Cool, Contemporary and Bold!

We love the bold and colorful design of this main floor interior renovation from our Hill St kitchen design project.

The enduring appeal of a navy and white kitchen

To design this gorgeous and inviting kitchen, the wall between the kitchen and family room was removed to create an open-concept space that includes a large island with seating, ample pantry storage, and a beautiful tiled fireplace feature.

Luxurious gold finishes

This two-tone kitchen is comprised of navy base cabinets and white upper cabinets that are accented beautifully with polished gold finishes that you can see in the cabinet handles, kitchen faucets & mini-pendant lights. The streamlined silhouette of the Brizo Odin collection adds the perfect modern detail.

Tip: when mixing different metal finishes, try matching your lighting and cabinet hardware, then you can select a different finish for your kitchen faucets – is you wish.

Bold backsplash pattern

No kitchen would be complete without a beautiful backsplash tile! We love this bold patterned hex tile from Euro Tile & Stone – definitely a statement piece in this kitchen design. In order to highlight the pattern of the hexagon tiles, we matched the grout colour to the geometric lines.

Saving space

This cute and colourful custom breakfast nook is the perfect space for the family to get together with the children for breakfast. The custom bench is decorated with bright and colourful cushions and accented with this gorgeous pendant fixture.

Incorporating a bench at the end of the breakfast table offers extra seating while providing more clearance and traffic flow in the general area of the kitchen.

Feature fireplace design

The existing wood fireplace was replaced with a new gas insert and we refaced the existing brick with this beautiful large format 24 x 48-inch marble-like porcelain tile. This fireplace is now a beautiful focal point in the family room.

The custom millwork/cabinets on both sides of the fireplace provide storage for family items as well as beautiful shelving to display decorative accessories and photographs.

The natural maple wood details of the fireplace design on the mantle, shelving, and countertops are stained in a natural clear coat to match the wide plank maple hardwood.

Natural maple flooring

We absolutely love the natural finish of this maple flooring. New hardwood flooring was installed throughout the main floor and carried through on the stairs & railings. Highlighted with new interior doors and accents with black door handles & spindles on the stairs.

There are so many gorgeous details in this interior design project – it’s hard to pick a favorite. What is your favorite detail in this design?
