Huntingdale Ensuite Design and Renovation Project
The original layout and configuration of this ensuite bathroom had a tiny alcove shower and a large corner tub which took up almost a third of the bathroom and was never used. Essence Designs was asked to create a better layout that is not only beautiful but more functional for our clients.
Working with an existing footprint
This configuration is typical in older-style homes and most clients are asking to remove the oversized bathtub to be replaced with a standard-sized freestanding tub and larger walk-in shower.
Luckily, we were able to keep the plumbing in the same location and design this ensuite with a large walk-in shower, a freestanding soaker bathtub, and standard double vanity with plenty of storage.
It’s all about the details
Our clients requested warmer finishes while still having the look of a light bright bathroom. Therefore, we selected a neutral colour palette of warm greys, taupe, and cream tones with organic and subtle patterns and textures.
The luxurious marble-like porcelain tiles in the walk-in shower offer a timeless aesthetic with beautifully refined details of marble finishes from around the world.
The floor tiles have subtle veining and calming earth tones which bring a relaxing yet stylish mood to any space. This tile is a favourite among our clients.
All plumbing fixtures are in a brushed nickel finish which compliments the warm undertones of the tiles and vanity finishes. Incorporated are a few touches of black accents found in the mirrors & vanity light fixtures to add a little drama and contrast to the overall design and feel. The beautiful neutral paint colour is graceful and elegant, conveying a sense of style and quiet restraint which is perfect for any ensuite design. The final design is not only beautiful and calming but is now a functional and usable space for our clients.
