New Kitchen Design

I recently completed this kitchen design project with a local Ottawa-based renovation company. My clients requested to have the wall between the kitchen and the existing dining room removed in order to create a better layout to include an island and to maximize the space in their kitchen.

In order to stay within their $40-$50K renovation budget, our clients selected a shaker style thermofoil cabinet door and drawer design in a ‘Woodgrain Black Bean’ textured finish.

The drawer box construction is a durable, natural maple melamine interior with full-extension Blum hardware with quick release feature. This allows our clients to fully remove the drawer for easy cleaning which is always a welcomed feature.

I’m sure you’ve heard that Thermofoil is cheap! This is not always the case – there is a bit of a misconception in the market about this material.

What if I were to tell you “this material won’t peel”?

When you purchase your cabinetry from a reputable supplier and designed by a professional, thermofoil cabinetry is not only good-quality and durable, it is also easy to maintain, and is cost-effective. Now that there are texture woodgrain thermofoil finishes available, at a distance, you can’t tell the difference between a stained wood or thermofoil door.
