Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a client who sought to transform their kitchen into an aesthetically pleasing and functional space. They had a vision of a vibrant, colourful design and the outcome was a kitchen that combined modern features with a personal touch. From the sleek cabinet choices to the teal herringbone backsplash, every element was curated to breathe new life into the heart of their home.

Reconfiguring Kitchen Layout: A Pivotal Decision

We began the interior design process by reimagining the layout of the kitchen. Our first step was to remove the wall between the kitchen and the dining area, creating an open-concept design that enhances flow and connectivity. This strategic alteration established the kitchen as the central hub of the main floor, facilitating most of the household activities.

Expanding the island emerged as a crucial decision, offering extensive space for culinary activities—a passion close to our client’s heart. Envisioning the island as more than just a workstation, we integrated additional seating, fostering an inviting environment for casual gatherings.

Kitchen Cabinets: Where Simplicity Meets Sophistication

Our interior design journey continued with the selection of flat panel cabinets in painted white and natural walnut material. These cabinets offer clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic. Serving as the perfect foundation for the modern yet inviting ambiance our client envisioned. To enhance visual contrast and add depth to the space, we opted for a striking combination of white cabinets and natural walnut cabinets. It creates a balanced yet dynamic interior design that instantly captivates the eye.

Positioned above the range is the integrated ventilation hood fan, blending into the surroundings with its minimalist design. The sleek silhouette complements the overall design without disrupting the visual harmony. Despite its unobtrusive appearance, this ventilation hood fan plays a vital role in maintaining optimal air quality within the kitchen.

Brushed Gold Hardware: Elevating Elegance

Brushed gold cabinet pulls were selected to accentuate the cabinets. The warm undertones of the gold hardware harmonize beautifully with the rich walnut and textured gold chandeliers. This careful coordination of finishes resulted in a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.

Rafaelio Collection Pendants: Illuminating Inspiration

Lighting is an essential design element that can truly transform a space. We chose chandeliers from the Rafaelio collection, which have a matte white finish on the exterior and a beautiful textured gold finish on the interior. These oversized pendants complement the brushed gold hardware and warm tones found throughout the kitchen. These exquisite chandeliers not only illuminate the working surface but also add a touch of glamour to the overall design.

Quartz Countertop: A Testament to Timeless Beauty

We selected Hanstone Montauk quartz for the countertop—a material often used in our projects. It’s known for its durability and versatility, boasting subtle veining and a neutral color palette that complements the white and walnut cabinetry. This resilient, easy-to-care-for surface is perfect for a busy kitchen. The Montauk quartz countertop acts as a canvas for culinary endeavors, adding a touch of subtle luxury to the space.

Herringbone Teal Subway Tiles: Infusing Personality and Playfulness

In a design that nodded to our client’s vibrant personality, we opted for teal subway tile arranged in a herringbone pattern for the backsplash. This delightful pop of color injects energy and character into the kitchen, inspired by our client’s favorite colour. The playful teal hue creates a focal point that draws the eye and sparks joy. Set against the white and walnut cabinets and Montauk quartz countertop backdrop, the teal subway tiles serve as a captivating accent, infusing the kitchen with warmth and personality.

Crassana Collection Floor Tiles: Embracing Elegance in Every Step

To complete the kitchen design, we turned to the Crassana collection for the floor tiles—an exquisite choice that combines classic and modern elements. These large-format porcelain tiles have a matte finish and a beautiful natural colour palette. They lend a sense of understated luxury to the space while providing practicality and ease of maintenance. Serving as the foundation of the entire design, the Crassana floor tiles unify the kitchen’s various elements and foster a seamless flow.
